PASSION PROJECTS

self-run: done without incentive of grading.

QUARTER 4 PASSION PROJECT:

this is me at 17

For my final high school digital media passion project, I decided to do something personal. This is a visual list of the most important and defining aspects of my life at age 17. I hope to recreate this at different points in my life, and to inspire my audience to consider the contents of their own list.

I made this simply because I wanted to make a video but didn't have any footage of my own to edit.

LAINIE IN APRIL

self-run

This rainy April shoot with my talented friend Lainie was very rewarding. I set out to do a simple project that would keep me engaged with my medium and prevent me from falling into a creative slump after my ceramics documentary. The dress was provided by Goodwill, and the location by the Clay Creative building/parking lot.

CERAMICS DOCUMENTARY

For this passion project, I decided to create a documentary focusing on the ceramics program at Cleveland High School, and the value of the art form itself. I'm somewhat new to this program, but I wanted to showcase the talent and thoughtfulness I've seen in this community. I shot it over the course of roughly a month, and I'm pleased with the results.

Songs used:

All Day and All of the Night by The Kinks

Inside My House; Some Place I Keep Dreaming About by Ricky Eat Acid

LOS ZAGUATES

self-run

LOS ZAGUATES is a project I curated over winter break of 2018. It documents 10 stray dogs (in Spanish known as zaguates) that I encountered in Manzanillo, Mexico. Each of these canines were a delight, some accepting my offering of dog kibble and all happily receiving all the love I could give. Two had even been given names by the locals. This was one of my favorite projects I've ever done, I hope to continue to build upon this collection.
